Portraits you will be proud to display

Preserving your family memories is so important. So is the decision of how you will display your portraits for years to come. Whether it be a beautiful wall portrait that you walk by every day, a folio box that you pull off the shelf to share with friends and family when they visit, or an album that sits on your end table, allowing you to browse through these images any time you wish, the options are endless and as unique as you are.

I specialize in beautiful, heirloom-quality items that will allow you to enjoy your portraits for generations to come. Let me help you choose these items and deliver the finished products. Ordering and creating your products is one more thing on your to-do list.

Newborn Photography FAQ

If you’re expecting a little one, it’s never too early to plan for their newborn photography session. To secure your spot, I recommend reserving at least 2 months in advance of your due date for your newborn baby’s photoshoot in my North Vancouver photography studio.

While the best time for a newborn photoshoot is within the first 5-20 days of life, I understand that not all babies follow a strict schedule. Don’t worry, even if your baby is a little older than the recommended time, we can still create beautiful photos. During the session, we’ll work together to capture those sweet moments and memories that you’ll cherish for years to come.

My studio in Vancouver is designed to provide a relaxed and comfortable environment for you and your baby. We’ll discuss all the details during our consultation, where I’ll custom-tailor the setups to suit your preferences and your baby’s unique personality.

To ensure that we can schedule your session during that crucial first two weeks, please contact me within the first 3 days after your baby’s birth. From there, we’ll work together to schedule a convenient date for your newborn photography session in Vancouver. With each session being unique and custom designed, I am dedicated to providing you with a personalized experience that you and your little one will enjoy.

My studio is conveniently located in Lynn Valley, North Vancouver, with easy access off the highway. You can find me at 1208 Frederick Rd. I look forward to welcoming you to my beautiful studio space!

  • In-person (or online) consultation to design your dream newborn session and prepare for your day
  • Fully guided newborn and family photo shoot
  • Variety of unique props, outfits and setups
  • Guidance in selecting your best images
  • Professional and artistic portrait editing

My top priority during our session is to ensure that you feel completely relaxed and taken care of. That’s why I provide everything you need for a successful shoot!

I have a wide variety of hats, headbands, wraps, and blankets available for you to choose from, as well as carefully curated props like hand-knit bonnets, soft linens, textured layers, and antique buckets and bowls.

If we’re taking family photos, it’s always a good idea to bring a change of clothes just in case of any unexpected accidents. And if your little one is bottle-fed, please bring extra bottles so we can keep the session going without interruptions.

To make your experience as comfortable as possible, I also provide snacks and drinks for you to enjoy. So sit back, relax, and let me capture beautiful memories of your newborn!

Please reach out to me within the first three days of your baby’s birth to arrange a specific date for your newborn photo shoot.

I find that the best newborn baby photographs are taken within the first 5 – 20 days.  However, we can create a  beautiful gallery of your new baby regardless of her/his age, so if you’ve missed the window, don’t panic!

Please wear cool and comfortable clothing in layers as the studio will be nice and warm so your baby feels comfortable and hopefully sleeps through most of our session. If we are taking pictures with siblings, mom and dad, you should wear similar solid colours. Natural colours and tones, like greys, light blues and earthy tones always photograph well and please avoid logos and patterns. And just in case there are any small accidents, bringing an extra set of clothes is always a good idea.

If you are not sure what to do with your hair or make up, please read this blog post.

Not to worry! I am experienced in photographing both awake and sleeping babies. If your little one happens to be awake during the session, we can still capture beautiful images as long as they are content.

It’s important to keep in mind that awake babies can be more challenging to pose, so there may be some poses that we cannot achieve. However, I will do my best to work with your baby’s natural movements and capture their unique personality and expressions.

Rest assured, we will still create a beautiful gallery of images that you will cherish for years to come, regardless of whether your baby is awake or asleep during the session.

At Newborn Photography Vancouver, I am here to guide you through the entire session and ensure that you and your family are posed in the most flattering and natural way possible.

I understand that being in front of the camera can be nerve-wracking, but don’t worry – I will provide clear guidance on where to place your hands and where to look, so that you can relax and enjoy the moment.

These family photos will be some of the most cherished images from the session, and it’s important that you are a part of them. As mothers, we are often behind the camera capturing moments for our families, but this is your time to shine and be a part of the memories.

Please don’t let any insecurities or nerves get in the way of capturing this special moment in your family’s life. I am here to ensure that you love your pictures and that they reflect the love and connection that you share.

To prepare siblings for the portrait session, I recommend letting them hold the baby with assistance at home, making it a fun and exciting experience. For younger siblings, I will pose the baby in a basket or on a soft surface and have the siblings sit or lie next to the baby.

Family photos and sibling pictures are usually taken at the end of the session. I usually ask that the siblings just come for the family portrait part as it is no fun for them to stick around for the whole session. The studio is located near several playgrounds or a family member or friend can drop off the sibling at an arranged time.

Maternity Photography FAQ

I recommend scheduling your maternity portrait session when you’re around 30-34 weeks pregnant. At this stage, you’re likely feeling your best and most comfortable, which allows us to capture stunning photos that perfectly showcase your pregnancy journey.

My studio is conveniently located in Lynn Valley, North Vancouver, with easy access off the highway. You can find me at 1208 Frederick Rd. I look forward to welcoming you to my beautiful studio space!

Yes, I provide a full wardrobe for your maternity photo shoot. It includes an exquisite selection of beautiful sheer Italian silks and other fabrics for draping, as well as stunning gowns and timeless/classic dresses. I’m passionate about making sure you look and feel your best, and I believe that having a variety of wardrobe options is an essential part of achieving that.

Absolutely! I love it when partners get involved in the maternity photo shoot. Your kids are welcome to join in on the fun as well. It’s important to me that everyone feels comfortable and included, and I’ll work with you to create a relaxed and enjoyable environment for the whole family.

I’ll provide you with detailed instructions on how to prepare for your pregnancy photo shoot, and we’ll also go over them during our design consultation. One of the most important things to keep in mind is to pamper yourself with a manicure or pedicure in a neutral color, or do it yourself a day or two before the photo shoot. Your nails will be shown off in the maternity portraits, so it’s important to keep them looking their best. I’m here to help make the preparation process as easy and stress-free as possible.

I understand that many women may feel self-conscious about their appearance during their pregnancy photoshoot, especially with concerns about extra weight, stretch marks, or other perceived imperfections. Rest assured that my goal is to help you feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera. I use lighting and posing techniques that are specifically designed to flatter your figure, and I also offer professional retouching services to enhance your natural beauty. We can discuss any concerns you may have during our consultation so that we can work together to create stunning maternity portraits that showcase your unique beauty.

To make your maternity photo shoot day truly special, I highly recommend treating yourself to professional hair and makeup services. Consider making it a full day of self-care and relaxation by indulging in a massage or other pampering treatments. When you feel relaxed and beautiful, it will show in your photos. If you need any recommendations for hair and makeup artists, please don’t hesitate to ask!

I can't wait to hear from you!
